A regression was used to convert the fluorescence values to an actual chl-a concentration. As daylight fluorescence profiles are known to be affected by quenching, only values collected during night (18:00 pm to 06:00 am) were included in the analysis to determine the regression equation. The regression equation applied is: Fluorescence_calib=Fluorescence*1.2935+0.2886 CTD-Nitrates (upoly0) was calibrated by comparison with in situ measurement of Nitrates (µmol/L) from Niskin bottles. The following regression was used to convert the upoly0 values to an actual Nitrates concentration: Nitrates_calib=upoly0*0.8958779+3.94843938 Particulate Organic Carbon (POC) The transmissometer (Xmiss) has been initially calibrated to give 0 to 100% full scale deflection. Data from CTD were compared to in situ measurement of POC from Niskin bottles. The following regression was used to convert the Xmiss (%) values to an actual POC concentration (µmol/L): POC_calib=LN(Xmiss/100)*(-100.74)+0.6401 Fluorescence_code (column 18), Nitrates_code (column 22), and POC_code (column 28) contain quality code of the respective variables, with 0=validated data and 9=wrong data.
