Total length : 0.5 to 0.75 mm

How to recognize an Euterpina female:

Using a binocular :

The body shape is quite cylindrical but the urosome is gradually narrowing.

The prosome anterior section is sharply pointed.

The rostrum is stout and clearly visible.

Prosome posterior section with 3 segments.

Urosome with 5 segments (female).

Body articulation is distinct.

Using a microscope :

A1 is 7-segmented.

P5 is symmetrical and 1-segmented.

 

How to differenciate E. acutifrons from other Euterpina

There is only one species within the family.
