More than 30 scientists from 17 research institutes (including 12 EuroMarine members) and 9 countries around the world (France, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Switzerland, Bermuda, USA, and Brazil) are taking part of the PlankDiv workshopNouvelle fenêtre organized this week at the Observatoire Océanographique de Villefranche-sur-merNouvelle fenêtre

PlankDiv is supported by the EuroMarine consortiumNouvelle fenêtre, the Laboratoire d'Océanographie de Villefranche (LOV)Nouvelle fenêtre, the PlankMed action of the WG5 of the Mermex/MistralsNouvelle fenêtreprogramNouvelle fenêtre, and the FunOmics project of LEFE-EC2CO of INSU/CNRS.

The workshop focuses on the "Impact of climate change on the distribution of plankton functional and phylogenetic diversity". It gathers expertise in species distribution models and ecological niche models, plankton biogeography, functional traits, phylogeny, and genomics to assess the impact of climate and climate change on plankton communities' structure and functioning.

The workshop is organized around oral and poster sessions, working group discussions and practical tutorials. It also promotes networking among early career researchers currently working on the impact of climate change on functional and phylogenetic diversity of plankton.
