General information
on research training
The professor-scientists and the
CNRS scientists at LOV regularly welcome
interns and they supervise many theses.
The professor-scientists at LOV teach
in the "MASTER de Sciences
et Technologies de l'UPMC", "Mention:
Sciences de l'Univers, Environnement,
Ecologie et Spécialité Océanographie"
and "Environnement Marin". They teach
at Villefranche
and at the Jussieu campus in Paris.
By
bringing specialists from various disciplines
together at LOV, young researchers receive
a multi-disciplinary training in oceanography.
A solid multi-disciplinary education
is essential in today’s
research environment, in order to study,
model, and predict changes that will
continue to affect our planet in the
coming decades (for example, global warming,
the collapse of natural resources that
were previously renewable, and the loss
of biodiversity). The professors and
researchers at LOV continually innovate
with respect to their teaching methods
(for example, multi-disciplinary placements
and teaching at a distance). To learn
more, visit the education
site for the
observatory.
