Postdoc position available in the Institute of Oceanography, National Taiwan University


We are seeking one postdoctoral scientist to work in the Institute of Oceanography, National Taiwan University, for 1 to 2.5 years.

The position can start immediately and last up to July 31, 2012. The research subjects include:

1) developing automated plankton sizing and identification systems using FlowCam and ZooScan,

2) investigating trophic ecology of planktonic foodwebs, and

3) theoretical development and data analyses of plankton foodwebs.

We welcome empirical and theoretical scientists. The scientific objectives are

1) to examine the damming effects of Three-Gorge Dam on the East China Sea ecosystem as well as climate changes, and

2) to monitor environmental effects on ecosystem variations of a water reservoir.

These projects are interdisciplinary cooperative works with biologists, chemists and physicists from several institutions. Application will remain open until suitable candidates are found.
