- Estimation of photochemial
production of CO2 from the degradation of CDOM in
coastal zones using relevant satellite information.
- Estimation
of CO2 fixation (primary production) from satellite data
in polar regions.
- Evaluation of the impact of environmental changes
observed in the Arctic (e.g. reduction of sea ice, increasing
amount of freshwater from terrestrial arctic ecosystems)
on the inorganic fluxes of carbon (i.e. photodegradation
of CDOM vs primary production)
between atmosphere and ocean.
- Improvement of satelite ocean
color remote sensing in high latitudes (e.g. regional
bio-optical algorithms, effect of sea ice on the retreival
of bio-optical
properties).
