The Marine Optics and Remote Sensing Lab is an interdisciplinary group studying the interaction of solar energy with the ocean.

Our main research activities focus on the propagation of solar energy in the atmosphere and ocean, and include its interaction with oceanic constituents and its influence on primary production.

Since januray 2011,we are member of a scientific interest group (so-called GIS) dedicated to the study and observation of ocean colour, the GIS COOC (here)

The Group has co-organized the international meeting PiE 2010 in Villefranche-sur-Mer (15-17th November 2010) (here). A Special Issue of the conference in under review in the journal Geo-Marine Letters.

The Marine Optics and Remote Sensing Lab is part of the Laboratoire d'Océanographie de Villefranche within the Observatoire Océanologique de Villefranche/Mer and affiliated with CNRS and UPMC.
